Other than knowing and loving the founders… :-) I know how important weight-bearing exercise is, especially with regards to aging, but was never able to stick to a program on my own. Decided to give it a shot, and what do you know, I’m sticking to it!
OMG, I’m gonna die. Oh, I’m sore. Hmm. I’m getting stronger!
I like to eat and drink!
Sticking with the program! I can definitely do more sit-ups and push-ups and can jump rope longer without stopping.
I’d like to think my increase in muscle mass will eventually lead to some weight loss! My always goal is to be able to stay active as long as possible as I age. We love to ski, bike, swim, scuba dive, and hike.
Rowing
Wall balls and anything with impact…
“Start Me Up” or pretty much anything else by The Rolling Stones.
This, too, shall pass.
The great attitude of all the instructors and the non-judgemental-ness (is that a word?) of the members!
Sitting at a computer doing books, payroll, money management. Cooking, eating, drinking, entertaining, reading, travelling. And watching the Zags, of course!
Some of my previous businesses have been: Horseback outfitting in the Pasayten Wilderness, raising deer for venison, and a retail propane operation. Currently, my husband and I raise apples and pears in the Okanogan Valley.
Wait for it…a pharmacist! Yah, I know, right!
Gins. I love exploring all the various gins that are out there now.
That I raised 2 “boys” who are fine young men.
My mother, Evie Pariseau, who worked as a PE teacher in an era where not every mom worked. She did amazing things for girls’ sports, before that was even a “thing”. Lots of stories I could tell.
Don’t be afraid to modify any exercise that makes your body speak to you in harsh language! The instructors always have a suggestion for a modification or substitution that will still get you a great workout WITHOUT HURTING YOURSELF! It’s especially important for “ol’ ladies” like me and people just beginning. Take the responsibility for your own body and go as slow as needed.
